A total of 1,294 candidates received appointment letters for various positions across seven departments.
This included 826 postgraduate teachers in the School and Mass Education Department, 224 positions in the Health and Family Welfare Department—including assistant professors, clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, nursing officers, and drug inspectors—63 positions in the Commerce and Transport Department—including motor vehicle inspectors and traffic constables—81 teaching positions in the Skill Development Department, 49 Gram Panchayat Development Officer positions in the Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department, 32 Excise Sub-Inspector positions in the Excise Department, and 19 positions in the Labour Department.

Chief Minister, while addressing the newly appointed candidates, stated that from the very beginning of the government’s tenure, priority has been given to employment generation in both the government and private sectors. The goal is to fill 1.5 lakh government positions within five years, with 65,000 positions being filled in the first two years. As of today, a total of 27,428 government positions have been filled. These initiatives reflect the government’s vision. Efforts for further recruitment are ongoing, and new employment opportunities will continue to emerge. To ensure transparency in the recruitment process, a bill was passed in the Legislative Assembly, leading to the enactment of a new law. Complete transparency is being maintained in the hiring process, and the age limit for government jobs has been extended to 42 years.”

The recruitment drive covered a wide range of departments, including education, health, commerce, transportation, skill development, panchayati raj, and excise. With a commitment to job creation, the Odisha government aims to fill 1.5 lakh government vacancies over five years, advancing its vision of enhanced employment opportunities.

Additionally, the Chief Minister highlighted transparency in hiring practices, citing newly enacted legislation to ensure fairness and prevent corruption. He encouraged new recruits to participate in the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign, planting a tree in their mother’s name as a symbol of responsibility and commitment to society.

The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Industry Minister Sampad Swain, and Forest, Environment & Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia. Their presence underscored the significance of strengthening the state’s administrative workforce.

The initiative is expected to enhance employment opportunities and improve governance in Odisha, reinforcing the government’s commitment to creating a transparent and efficient system.
