The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, in collaboration with the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, has launched a new category under the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2025.

The Suakati Gram Panchayat, located in the Keonjhar district of Odisha, has been awarded the Jury Award.

This category is designed to recognise exceptional digital initiatives by Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).

This groundbreaking award, titled “Grassroots Level Initiatives for Deepening Service Delivery at Gram Panchayats or Equivalent Traditional Local Bodies,” aims to honour exemplary digital initiatives implemented by Gram Panchayats. The focus is on acknowledging the vital role of Gram Panchayats in improving the ease of living and overall quality of life through effective, transparent, and citizen-centric service delivery.

Following a rigorous multi-tier evaluation process at the Block, District, State, and National levels, four Gram Panchayats have been designated as winners from over 145,000 entries submitted by participants from 26 States and Union Territories under this new award category.

  • Gold Award: Rohini Gram Panchayat, Dhule District, Maharashtra
  • Silver Award: West Majlishpur Gram Panchayat, West Tripura District, Tripura
  • Jury Award: Palsana Gram Panchayat, Surat District, Gujarat
  • Jury Award: Suakati Gram Panchayat, Keonjhar District, Odisha

Out of the three Jury Awards presented at the National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2025, two have been awarded to Gram Panchayats. This achievement underscores the innovation and commitment of Gram Panchayats in enhancing digital governance and providing quality services to citizens.

The NAeG 2025 awards include (i) a trophy, (ii) a certificate, and (iii) a financial incentive of Rs 10 lakh for Gold Awardees and Rs 5 lakh for Silver Awardees. The financial incentives are granted to the winning District, Organisation, or Gram Panchayat to support the implementation of the awarded project or to address any resource gaps in public welfare initiatives.

The Awards Ceremony will be organised by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) during the 28th National Conference on e-Governance, in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.
