Nabarangpur: A group of armed Maoists reportedly killed a man suspecting him to be a police informer at Khalepara village under Raighar block in Nabarangpur district.
The deceased was identified as Chandan Mallick (42).
According to reports, over 25 Maoists reached Chandan’s house and took him to a nearby field from his house. The extremists then tied his hands with a rope and thrashed him mercilessly.
Later, they strangled Chandan with a rope killing him on the spot.
After the incident, the ultras left posters and blamed Nabarangpur SP, Chhattisgarh Police and Intelligence Department for the death of Chandan.
Following the incident, Raighar police reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
