Congress MP Shashi Tharoor delivered a strong message against Pakistan-backed cross-border terrorism during his visit to Guyana on Sunday.

Addressing a gathering, Tharoor declared that India would not allow perpetrators of terrorism to escape accountability after attacking civilians.

“India has reached a point of resolved determination,” Tharoor said. “We will not only bring the killers to justice but also target those who finance, train, and equip them.”

Leading a multi-party delegation, Tharoor emphasized the need for global solidarity against terrorism. He also urged the Indian diaspora in Guyana to support India’s firm stance, stating, “There must be a price to pay for terror attacks. This is the new normal.”

The delegation, which includes members from BJP, Congress, Shiv Sena, TDP, and other parties, is also briefing global leaders on Operation Sindoor—India’s recent military action in which nine terrorist bases were destroyed in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was launched following the Pahalgam terror attack.

Guyana’s Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo and Prime Minister Mark Phillips extended full support to India’s campaign. “We stand with India in its fight against terrorism,” Jagdeo affirmed during a meeting with the delegation at the Presidential Palace in Georgetown.

The delegation also raised concerns regarding the Indus Waters Treaty, highlighting India’s evolving stance on regional security and water rights in light of continued hostilities from across the border.
