In a swift and powerful military response under Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army destroyed 13 Pakistani posts in just three minutes, following cross-border mortar shelling near the Line of Control (LoC), according to an NDTV report citing army sources.

A senior Indian Army colonel revealed that the retaliatory strike occurred on the intervening night of May 6 and 7, after Pakistani forces fired two mortar shells at an Indian position. “Within three minutes of receiving enemy fire, we executed a pre-coordinated fire plan and neutralised 13 enemy bunkers,” the officer said.

He emphasized the preparedness of Indian soldiers: “Every jawan knew his role, the weapons to use, and the exact timing required to maximize impact on the enemy.”

The Indian armed forces had earlier launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7, conducting precision air and artillery strikes that obliterated nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These strikes were in direct response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba affiliate, had claimed responsibility for the massacre.

Following the strikes, India and Pakistan saw four days of heavy exchange of fire, before reaching a temporary ceasefire agreement on May 10.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised the operation, describing the Indian response as that of “skilled surgeons”, targeting the root of terrorism.

India has now decided to dispatch multi-party delegations to key international capitals to highlight its zero-tolerance policy on terrorism and to seek global support in countering Pakistan-sponsored militancy.

The armed forces remain on high alert, with further military action not ruled out in case of renewed Pakistani aggression.
