Bhubaneswar: In yet another accident involving a BMC garbage truck, an elderly man was killed after being hit by a vehicle engaged in transporting waste to Daruthenga on the outskirts of the city on Sunday morning.
According to reports, Rama Gagrai (47) was heading for some work on his bicycle when he was hit by the vehicle from behind resulting in his death on the spot.
Following the incident, local residents staged a protest and blocked Cuttack-Khordha connecting road via Chandaka.
While the police officials have been informed about the incident, BMC officials are yet to reach the spot, said sources.
