With Covid-19 cases rising in Asian nations such as Hong Kong, Singapore, and Thailand, the Odisha Health Department has assured citizens that the state has yet to register any fresh infections.
Officials remain vigilant, collaborating with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and monitoring international trends.
Public Health Director Dr. Nilakantha Mishra stated, “The Covid trend is found neither in India nor in Odisha. However, both the Centre and state governments are on high alert as cases continue to rise in certain Asian countries.”
Recent reports indicate that Hong Kong has seen its highest number of Covid cases in a year, and Singapore authorities have warned citizens about increasing virus transmission. Experts believe low immunity levels could be a key factor in the resurgence.
While Odisha remains unaffected for now, state health authorities reaffirm their commitment to implementing Central Government directives if the situation deteriorates. Citizens are advised to continue following preventive measures and remain informed.
