IPL 2025 Resumes May 17, Final on June 3

The remaining League-Stage matches will be played across six venues

After extensive discussions with government authorities and stakeholders, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the resumption of the TATA IPL 2025.


Cricket fans can rejoice as the tournament will continue with 17 matches played across six venues, starting from May 17 and culminating in an electrifying final on June 3.

New Match Schedule and Playoff Details

The revised schedule features two double-headers, ensuring high-intensity cricket action for fans. The playoffs are set to take place as follows:

  • Qualifier 1: May 29
  • Eliminator: May 30
  • Qualifier 2: June 1
  • Final: June 3

While the locations for these matches are yet to be announced, the BCCI assures that all venues will provide a safe and thrilling environment for players and audiences alike.

Key Fixtures and Venues

  • The tournament kicks off with Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs. Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru on May 17 at 7:30 PM IST.
  • The first double-header takes place on May 18, featuring Rajasthan Royals vs. Punjab Kings in Jaipur at 3:30 PM, followed by Delhi Capitals vs. Gujarat Titans in Delhi at 7:30 PM.
  • The second double-header is on May 25, featuring Gujarat Titans vs. Chennai Super Kings in Ahmedabad at 3:30 PM, followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Kolkata Knight Riders in Delhi at 7:30 PM.
  • The final set of league matches will conclude on May 27, with Lucknow Super Giants vs. Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Lucknow at 7:30 PM.

In an official statement, BCCI expressed deep gratitude to India’s armed forces, recognising their efforts in enabling the safe continuation of the tournament. The board reiterated its commitment to balancing national interests while ensuring the successful completion of IPL 2025.
