The Indian Army has conducted precision strikes against Pakistani military outposts and terror launchpads near the Line of Control (LoC), according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

The operation, named Operation Sindoor, comes in response to a wave of drone attacks launched from Islamabad, targeting 26 Indian military installations from Leh to Sir Creek.

Defence sources confirm that strategic locations in Pakistan, including Rafiqi, Murid, Chaklala, and Sialkot aviation base, were hit with high-intensity retaliation, disrupting key terror infrastructures used for cross-border infiltrations.

The Pakistani military retaliated overnight with heavy shelling along the LoC, leading to blackouts in Kupwara and casualties, including a senior official in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri.

Indian officials have reaffirmed their stance against cross-border aggression, emphasising that these strikes were a “befitting reply” to Pakistan’s ongoing hostilities. Defence spokesperson Col. Sofiya Qureshi stated that India will continue to safeguard its sovereignty through precision military operations.

As tensions escalate, diplomatic sources indicate that discussions are underway to address the crisis at an international level. India has urged global leaders to recognise the threat posed by Pakistani drone attacks and the role of terror bases in cross-border disturbances.

The situation remains fluid as border activity intensifies. With both nations mobilising assets along the LoC, security analysts speculate that further retaliatory measures may be initiated in the coming days.
