Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Uttarakhand has placed all hospitals on high alert, revoking staff leave and preparing emergency facilities to handle potential casualties.

The directive, issued by Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar, ensures that all ICUs and ventilators across the state are ready for immediate use.

In response to Operation Sindoor, India’s military action targeting Pakistan, vigilance has been extended to the Nepal and China borders adjoining Uttarakhand. The situation intensified overnight as Indian Army aircraft flew low over Dehradun, prompting widespread concern among residents.

Additionally, Indian forces conducted a massive counter-drone operation, successfully intercepting and destroying over 50 Pakistani swarm drones. This defensive manoeuvre protected border regions from aerial threats, highlighting India’s preparedness against emerging warfare tactics.

Locals reported a night of tension, marked by blackouts and continuous retaliatory firing. Although no casualties were reported, the atmosphere remains anxious, with schools in certain areas shutting down as a precautionary measure.

Security officials continue to monitor the situation, ensuring swift responses to any emerging threats. The Uttarakhand government reassures citizens that medical and defence systems are equipped to handle evolving challenges.
