Amid escalating tensions with Pakistan following Operation Sindoor, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a high-level meeting at the Defence Ministry shortly.

The crucial session will be attended by the Chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan.

The meeting comes at a critical juncture, as India’s security apparatus remains on heightened alert after precision strikes were carried out on multiple terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir earlier this week.

According to senior officials, the agenda is expected to include a comprehensive security review, operational readiness of the armed forces, and strategic updates on ongoing deployments along the Line of Control (LoC) and other sensitive sectors. Coordination with civil administrations in border states and management of civilian precautions such as blackouts in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district will also likely be discussed.

This is the second top-level security meeting being convened in less than 48 hours, signaling the gravity of the current geopolitical climate. Sources indicate that intelligence inputs, regional diplomatic responses, and contingency planning for further escalation are also expected to feature prominently in the deliberations.
