Cuttack: One person was killed in a road mishap near Tangi area of Cuttack district. It is being said that the Prime Accused of Mahanga double murder case Prafulla Biswal, was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Govindpur area at Tangi in Cuttack district on Saturday morning.
According to available information, it is suspected that Prafulla came under the wheels of a speeding truck.
On being informed, police reached the spot i.e., near an under-constructed toll gate, and took the injured to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack city where he was declared “dead”. A motorcycle and a mobile phone were recovered from the spot.
Police revealed the identity of the deceased after Prafulla’s family members gave confirmation.
The lifeless body has been kept in the morgue room of SCBMCH. Adhering to the rules, family members of the deceased identified the body for the official declaration.
Notably, BJP leader Kulamani Baral and his associate Dibya Singh Baral were critically injured after allegedly being attacked by some miscreants with sharp weapons near Jankoti in Cuttack district on January 2 evening when the duo was returning home on a motorcycle.
The victims were immediately taken in an ambulance to the Mahanga Community Health Centre, where doctor declared Kulamani brought dead while Dibya Singh was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital. However, he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
