The Special Crime Unit (SCU) has busted a large-scale racket exploiting the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) to fraudulently secure admissions into prestigious medical colleges and arrested four persons.
The operation, spanning across Odisha, Bihar, and Jharkhand, involved impersonation and document manipulation.

- Priyadarshi Kumar (Jharkhand)
- Arvind Kumar (Bihar)
- Sunil Samantray (Odisha)
- Rudra Narayan Behera (Odisha)
Articles Seized:
1. Documents relating to different candidates
2. Three cheques amounting to an amount of Rs 90 lakh
3. One blank cheque (suspected to be from the aspiring candidates)
4. Forged NRI/OCI sponsorship certificates
5. Hyundai Creta Car bearing Regd No – OD 17 F 6708
6. Mahindra Thar Car bearing Regd No – OD 02 CG 1500
7. Documents relating to the purchase of two pieces of land at Arugul
As per reports, local scouts identified potential candidates willing to pay between Rs 20-30 lakh for admissions through fraudulent means. Using fake sponsorship certificates and manipulated Aadhaar details, the syndicate enabled proxy candidates to sit for the NEET examination. The suspects allegedly fixed examination centres to facilitate their deceptive methods.
The SCU continues its probe to dismantle the broader network involved in this fraudulent activity, ensuring justice for affected aspirants and safeguarding the integrity of medical entrance examinations.
