In a significant move to uplift the livelihoods of workers, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a Rs 10 increase in the minimum daily wages for labourers across various skill categories.
The decision, approved today by the Chief Minister’s Office, reflects the state government’s commitment to prioritising the welfare of its workforce, particularly those in the unorganised sector.
The wage hike, effective immediately, aims to provide financial relief to workers grappling with rising living costs.
According to the announcement, the revised minimum daily wages are as follows:

Unskilled Workers: Increased from Rs 452 to Rs462

Semi-Skilled Workers: Raised from Rs 502 to Rs 512

Skilled Workers: Upped from Rs 552 to Rs 562

Highly Skilled Workers: Enhanced from Rs 602 to Rs 612
Chief Minister Majhi emphasised that the decision was made with the interests of labourers at heart.
