The Odisha Crime Branch has ramped up its investigation into the shocking daylight murder of BJD leader Naba Kishore Das, allegedly committed by ex-police officer Gopal Das, two years ago.
Recent scrutiny of old call records has revealed that Gopal Das spoke with multiple individuals prior to the crime, raising questions about possible motives and external influences.
Investigators are currently summoning these individuals for interrogation to piece together the sequence of events leading to the crime. A team has also questioned Gopal Das’ family members, including his son and brother, as well as a cook employed at an eatery owned by Gopal’s brother.
The probe aims to determine whether the murder was a planned conspiracy or the action of a lone assailant. Naba Kishore Das, the then Health Minister, succumbed to gunshot injuries in January 2023, marking a grim chapter in Odisha’s political history.
The Crime Branch continues its relentless pursuit of justice, leaving no stone unturned in this high-profile investigation.
