In response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the Jammu and Kashmir government has announced an ex gratia relief package to support the victims and their families.

The attack, which claimed innocent lives, has been widely condemned for its barbarity.

The government has pledged Rs 10 lakh to the families of those deceased, Rs 2 lakh for those grievously injured, and Rs 1 lakh for individuals with minor injuries. The Chief Minister’s office stated in a public post, “No amount of money can ever compensate for the loss of loved ones, but as a mark of support and solidarity, the J&K Government announces this ex gratia.”

Authorities are ensuring dignified transport arrangements for victims and have committed to providing top-notch medical care for the injured. The government reiterated its resolve to combat terrorism and bring the perpetrators to justice.

This tragic incident has drawn national attention, prompting further discussions on security measures in the region. The community continues to mourn the losses, holding on to hope and resilience in these testing times.
