Congress Protest Against ED Chargesheet

The All India Congress Committee headquarters witnessed a massive protest as Congress workers rallied against the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) chargesheet filed against senior party leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.

The chargesheet, submitted on April 9, pertains to a money laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper. In addition to the Gandhis, senior Congress leaders Sam Pitroda and Suman Dubey were also named. The Congress has vehemently rejected the accusations, calling them politically motivated and an attempt to silence the opposition.

Congress leader Supriya Shrinate led the charge during the demonstration, asserting that the government has been targeting the Gandhi family for over a decade without concrete evidence. “It’s a 12-year-old case with no actual money involved. The reality is that the government is using agencies to corner the Congress party,” Shrinate remarked.

The charges, filed under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), detail alleged financial irregularities. However, Congress leaders claim this move is intended to intimidate Rahul Gandhi, who has been vocal about key political and economic issues.

As protests continue, political tensions escalate, with Congress workers vowing to challenge what they describe as a “government-led vendetta.”
