Team India’s bowling unit produced a disciplined death-overs effort to restrict New Zealand to 198/3 in the third T20I in Wellington.
Electing to field first, India made early inroads via Arshdeep Singh, but Daryl Mitchell (89*) and Finn Allen (40) countered effectively to build a strong platform for the hosts.
Mitchell was the cornerstone of the Kiwi innings, bringing up a 26-ball half-century and launching a relentless assault alongside Bevon Jacobs (39*).
Despite the relentless pressure, Indian pacers pulled things back in the closing overs to prevent New Zealand from crossing the 200-run milestone.
India now require 199 runs to win the match and take an unassailable lead in the five-match T20I series.
