In response to the intensifying weather system and cyclonic storm warnings over the Bay of Bengal, the Collectorate of Nabarangpur has officially declared a two-day holiday for all educational institutions.
According to the official office order issued on October 26, 2026, all government, aided, and private schools, as well as Anganwadi centres across the Nabarangpur district, will remain closed on October 27 and October 28, 2026. The proactive decision has been taken to prioritise the safety and security of students amidst looming severe weather conditions.
While student attendance has been suspended for these two days, the administration has explicitly instructed that Headmasters, Mistresses, teachers, Anganwadi workers, and other institutional staff must remain present at their respective workplaces as usual.
District authorities and disaster management cells continue to monitor the situation closely as the weather system moves towards the coasts. Parents and guardians are advised to keep children indoors and stay updated through official announcements.
