Kitao Sakurai’s live-action martial arts feature Street Fighter concluded its first week in India with a decent gross collection of Rs 7.50 crore.
Released on October 16, 2026, the Hollywood video game adaptation witnessed a moderate theatrical run, trailing behind similar martial arts releases such as Mortal Kombat 2 in the Indian market.
Despite strategic promotional campaigns highlighting Indian action star Vidyut Jammwal alongside an ensemble global cast—including Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Callina Liang, Roman Reigns, and Don Lee—the film faced limited initial momentum. Mixed audience word-of-mouth further tempered weekday box office growth across major urban circuits.
The narrative centres on martial artists Ryu and Ken Masters as they enter the World Warrior tournament hosted by dictator M. Bison, while undercover operative Chun-Li seeks vengeance for her father’s death. The plot tests brotherhood, personal redemption, and combat prowess against a ruthless syndicate.
To secure a sustainable theatrical trajectory in India, Street Fighter will need strong weekend momentum and stable holdovers during its second week. Analysts project that steady performance in dubbed multi-language formats will be critical for the film to achieve a respectable final box office tally.
