The Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC) has published Advertisement No. 01-CRE-2026/OUSSSC dated 23 October 2026, announcing recruitment for 7,268 posts under the Combined Uniformed Services (Below Graduate Level) Examination, 2026.

This covers Constable (Civil), Constable (Communication), Constable (OISF), Firefighter, Firefighting Driver, Driver PMT, and Traffic Constable roles in the police and fire services.

For the first time, aspirants can compete for multiple positions through a single examination. Previously, separate notifications and tests were required for different posts, increasing the burden on candidates. The combined format streamlines the process and lets one application and exam open doors to several uniformed roles at once.

Eligible candidates are advised to visit the official OUSSSC website (https://ousssc.odisha.gov.in) for full details on vacancies, eligibility criteria (typically below graduate level, such as 10th or 12th pass depending on the post), age limits, physical standards, examination procedure, and the schedule for online registration and application submission. Physical measurements, efficiency tests, and medical checks are expected as part of the selection process for these uniformed roles, consistent with past Odisha police and fire service recruitments.

This recruitment is part of broader efforts by the Odisha government to fill uniformed vacancies through the dedicated OUSSSC, which was set up to improve transparency and efficiency after earlier process issues. Chairman Rashmi Ranjan Swain has previously emphasised fair and secure examinations. Candidates should rely only on official sources and complete applications carefully once the online window opens.

With thousands of openings spanning civil police, industrial security, communication, traffic, and fire services, the drive offers a significant opportunity for young people across Odisha seeking stable government employment in uniformed services. Those interested should monitor the OUSSSC portal regularly for the detailed notification PDF, exact vacancy breakdown, and registration dates.
