The courtroom drama Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam, starring Rajkummar Rao in the lead role, began its theatrical journey on a modest note.
The biographical legal film registered an estimated opening day collection of ₹2 crore at the Indian box office.
Helmed by director Avinash Arun, the film received mixed audience feedback upon release. Despite the slow start, industry trade analysts project decent growth over the weekend, estimating the movie’s first weekend net earnings to reach between Rs 6 crore and Rs 8 crore. However, the film faces tough competition from concurrent releases, including Jailer 2, Nayyi Navelli, and Whalefall.
Prahaar chronicles the journey of a high-profile lawyer navigating intense professional pressure, legal strategies, and complex family dynamics during a landmark court battle.
The film boasts a multi-starrer ensemble cast featuring Jaideep Ahlawat, Wamiqa Gabbi, Lalit Prabhakar, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles. The film’s long-term box office performance will heavily depend on its hold during the upcoming weekdays.
