Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Saturday following their strong performance in the Odisha student union elections.
The student wing secured key posts across 346 colleges and 13 state universities after campus polls resumed following an eight-year hiatus.
In a social media statement, Shah highlighted that ABVP’s successive victories—starting at Punjab University and Delhi University, and now extending to Odisha—send a powerful message about the political preferences of India’s youth.

He noted that students have firmly aligned themselves with the “Nation First” ideology rather than supporting groups accused of spreading falsehoods, illusions, and disorder.
Describing the outcome as a stern response to anti-national forces, Shah emphasised that the results reflect growing student confidence in constructive leadership, discipline, and national development across academic institutions nationwide.
