Bollywood action star Vidyut Jammwal is gearing up for his official Hollywood debut in the upcoming video-game adaptation Street Fighter.

Speaking candidly at the event, Jammwal reflected on his international production experience, drawing sharp contrasts between the working environments of Bollywood and Hollywood sets.
Strict Punctuality and Labour Laws
While acknowledging that higher budgets are often associated with international projects, Jammwal emphasised that professional discipline and rigid time management stood out the most. He noted that high-profile stars—such as 50 Cent, Jason Momoa, and Cody Rhodes—adhere strictly to schedules, with a culture where arriving late does not exist.
“If someone is late by one minute, makers call them to check if they are unwell,” Jammwal shared, highlighting the stark contrast. He also lauded transparent labour laws ensuring that technicians are fairly compensated down to the minute for overtime, fostering a deep sense of mutual respect and reliability on set.
Embracing the Role of Dhalsim
Jammwal attributed his natural fit for the character to his lifelong martial arts background, noting that he has trained in Kalaripayattu since the age of three. This rigorous training made him feel destined to portray Dhalsim in the Kitao Sakurai directorial venture.
Street Fighter features a massive star-studded ensemble including Noah Centineo, Andrew Koji, Jason Momoa, and 50 Cent. The film is scheduled to hit theatres in India on Oct 16 in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
