Ahead of the upcoming festive celebrations, a sensational murder has shocked the Nimakhandi area of Brahmapur, Ganjam.
A man was brutally killed after an argument triggered by alcohol consumption turned violent, resulting in his friend slitting his throat with a knife.
The deceased has been identified as Tuna Nayak. Police have arrested the accused friend, Bitu Sahoo, in connection with the crime.
According to police sources, Tuna and Bitu were drinking alcohol together late at night when an altercation broke out between them over an unknown issue. As the heated argument escalated, Bitu became enraged, pulled out a knife, and attacked Tuna, slitting his throat. Tuna succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Nimakhandi police team dispatched to the scene, secured the area, and apprehended Bitu Sahoo. An investigation is currently underway to ascertain the exact motive behind the altercation and murder.
