Bengaluru: More than 75 per cent of beds in private medical colleges and hospitals were taken over by Karnataka government for Covid management.
These were taken over through the order of Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The order comes after the state health minister said they will take up 80 per cent beds from private hospitals earlier. But, the private hospital association refused to do so.
Worthwhile to mention that  50 per cent of the beds had been reserved in private hospitals in Karnataka for Covid-19 patients.
