New Delhi: India is looking to end its 17-year wait for a T20 World Cup trophy in the ongoing ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
India won the inaugural edition played in South Africa under MS Dhoni’s leadership in 2007 but has failed to become champions again since then. This time, under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, the Men in Blue are desperate to end the duck and become champions for the second time.
India will open its campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024 on Wednesday (June 5) against Ireland. The Group A match is scheduled to take place at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

India reached the semifinals of the 2022 edition of the T20 World Cup but suffered a humiliating defeat against England in the last four match played in Adelaide on November 10, 2022.
