Seven people returning from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj to Andhra Pradesh were tragically killed when their mini-bus collided with a truck in Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred around 8:30 AM near Sihora town, located 65 kilometres from the district headquarters. Eyewitnesses stated that the truck was travelling down the highway on the wrong side, which led to the collision. All seven individuals from Andhra Pradesh died at the scene, and several others were reported to be trapped inside the mini-bus.
Following the accident, the district collector and the superintendent of police in Jabalpur rushed to the site. It is worth noting that this accident took place on a stretch of road that had been experiencing a significant traffic jam covering approximately 25 to 30 kilometres for the past three to four days. The traffic congestion in Rewa, located just 90 kilometres from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, extended into the neighbouring districts of Katni, Satna, and Jabalpur.
