At least 41 people were burned alive in a tragic bus accident in southern Mexico on Saturday. The bus was completely engulfed in flames following a collision near the small city of Escárcega.
Reports indicate that approximately 48 passengers were on board the vehicle, which was travelling from Cancun to Tabasco when it collided with a trailer. The government of Tabasco state announced that 41 individuals have died, and recovery efforts are ongoing, including attempts to identify the victims.
Authorities have stated that they will provide an update later on Saturday regarding the number of victims and their identities. Ramiro Lopez, the secretary of government for Tabasco, confirmed this information.
Additionally, the local council, Palacio Municipal de Comalcalco, has pledged to assist with the transfer of the bodies of those who lost their lives in the accident.
