A high-level workshop was held today at Kharavel Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, to review the execution strategy of Odisha’s Vision 2036 and Vision 2047 under the banner “Viksit Odisha for Viksit Bharat.”
The session was presided over by Smt. Usha Padhee, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Commerce & Transport and Housing & Urban Development Departments, and featured key inputs from McKinsey & Company, the strategic knowledge partner for the Vision Document.
The workshop spotlighted Odisha’s goal to become a core contributor to India’s aspiration of becoming a developed nation by 2047. Targets include achieving a GSDP of USD 1.5 trillion, contributing 5% to national GDP, and creating over 1 crore non-farm jobs.
Six Pillars Guiding the Vision:
- People First
- Rural Empowerment
- Prosperity for All
- Legacy with Pride
- Tech-led Growth
- People-Centric Governance
A central highlight was the introduction of the “36 for 36” flagship programmes targeting transformation in sectors like infrastructure, healthcare, education, tourism, agriculture, climate resilience, and skilling.
Participants reviewed execution models such as the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation pilot, emphasising local implementation strategies. Smt. Padhee stressed the importance of inter-departmental synergy, institutional capacity, and data-driven governance. The workshop introduced robust mechanisms including real-time dashboards, embedded Project Monitoring Units (PMUs), and a Whole-of-Government approach.
Officials from the Commerce & Transport and Housing & Urban Development Departments shared insights into KPI-driven accountability and the infrastructural blueprint that underpins this vision.
The workshop marks a decisive step in aligning Odisha’s long-term development agenda with India’s national roadmap for inclusive growth.
