The Odisha Home Department has announced the promotion of several Additional Public Prosecutors (Addl.P.Ps) to the rank of Public Prosecutors across the state.
The newly appointed officials will serve in various locations, reinforcing the legal system and ensuring efficient prosecution of cases.
The promotions, granted on an ad-hoc basis for a year, come as part of the Odisha State Prosecution Service’s ongoing efforts to enhance judicial efficiency. These appointments are subject to consultation with the Odisha Public Service Commission and dependent on the final outcome of W.P(C) No.6776 of 2025.
Among the key promotions, Sri Debasish Mahakud, formerly serving in Cuttack, has been assigned as the Public Prosecutor for CID, CB (Crime Branch) in Cuttack. Smt. Sipranjali Swain, previously posted in Puri, will take charge as the Public Prosecutor in Khurda at Bhubaneswar. Additionally, Sri Salila Kumar Pradhan will assume the role of Special Public Prosecutor for the Vigilance Organisation.
These appointments underscore the government’s commitment to strengthening legal proceedings and expediting justice in Odisha.
