Nineteen Maoists from Chhattisgarh surrendered before the police in Kothagudem, Telangana, on Thursday.

Officials Present: The surrender happened in the presence of Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju, officials from the CRPF 81 battalion, and 141 battalion at Bhadrachalam.

Notable Figures: Among those who surrendered were Naroti Manish, a Maoist agriculture team south Bastar divisional committee member, and PPCM members Madvi Nanda and Madvi Handa. Naroti Manish had a cash reward of Rs 8 lakh, while Nanda and Handa had a cash reward of Rs 4 lakh each.

Reason for Surrender: The Maoists realized their party had lost support from the adivasis and was hindering the development of agency villages.

Previous Surrender: In January, a similar event called Athmeeya Sammelanam was organized at Cherla, where 22 Maoists surrendered.
