Bhubaneswar: The 15th Toshali National Crafts Mela will be held during January 2021 to facilitate marketing of products made by weavers/artisans facing huge difficulties due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The decision to organise 15th edition of Toshali National Crafts Mela was taken during a review meeting held on January 4th by Odisha Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts (HT&H) Minister, Smt. Padmini Dian, at SIDAC, in presence of the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Deptt Smt. Shubha Sarma. All senior Officers of the Deptt. were also present in the meeting.
Hon’ble Minister reviewed the activities of the Deptt. and expressed her pleasure towards achievement done by the Deptt.during Covid-19 period especially for the assistance rendered to weavers and artisans for improving marketing of their products. Further, she also advised the officers to work dedicatedly for the interest of weavers and artisans while implementing different schemes of the Dept.
As the weavers/artisans have faced huge difficulties for marketing of their products during Covid-19 period, thus it was decided to organise the 15th Toshali National Crafts Mela during January, 2021 observing the Covid-19 guidelines issued by Govt., which will facilitate marketing of their products.
