Sundergarh: A 23-year-old youth allegedly killed his mother after she refused to give him money on Saturday night, the police said today.
The incident was reported from Bahiyam village under Rajgangpur police limits in the district.
According to reports, an altercation erupted between accused Raju Gouda and her mother Laxmi Gouda (50) after the former refused to give money to him. The situation took an ugly turn after Raju, in a fit of rage, slit her mother’s throat with a knife.
While the woman died on the spot, Raju fled soon after the incident.
On being informed, police reached the spot and launched a probe into the matter.
