Balasore: A youth, who was allegedly engaged in inter-state cattle smuggling, died after jumping off a bridge near Rajghat checkpoint here on Saturday night.
According to reports, the incident took place while the police, acting on reliable inputs, conducted a motor vehicle inspection on Odisha – West Bengal border area.
Following the search, Police rescued around 200 cattle from three containers and has detained nine persons in this connection. Around one lakh cash was also recovered from another vehicle, said sources.
