Cuttack: Police have arrested a youth on charges of theft from a private hospital near Markatnagar police station in the district. The accused person has been identified as Lochan Nayak (24) of Bramhapur Bada Bazar.
Reportedly, the matter came to fore after the hospital authority lodged a complaint in this regard.
On the basis of the complaint, police launched a probe and examined the CCTV installed in the hospital. Thereafter, police on Monday raided the Imampara slum and arrested the accused person.
The cops have also recovered the stolen money (Rs 1.23 lakh) from his possession. Later, he was forwarded to court on Tuesday.
Notably, the incident took place on January 16. The accused looted Rs 10.30 lakh after breaking a drawer from a private hospital situated near Markatnagar police station..
