Kendrapara district witnessed turmoil on Friday after the body of Bansidhar Mishra, a young resident of Pakhada village, was discovered hanging near the local cremation ground.

Family members of the deceased strongly believe foul play is involved and have accused unidentified individuals of murdering Mishra. This tragic event escalated into a protest as angry locals, led by Mishra’s grieving family, staged a blockade on the Rathadanda stretch of the Garadpur-Patkura road. Burning tires and impassioned demands for justice brought traffic to a standstill for hours.
Police swiftly intervened, recovering the body and sending it for post-mortem examination. Officers assured the community of a thorough investigation and promised to apprehend the culprits.
While the protest ended after police intervention, the area remains tense but calm as authorities continue their probe to uncover the truth behind Mishra’s tragic death.
