Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has issued yellow warning for heat wave conditions in as many as 11 districts of Odisha for the next three days starting from Thursday.
These districts are Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput and Dhenkanal.
“Due to prevailing mainly Northwesterly/Westerly dry air and high solar insolation, consequently maximum temperature (day temperature) likely to be more than 40°C at many places over the districts of Odisha and likely to be above normal by 3 to 5°C over the districts of Odisha till 6,” read the statement issued by IMD.
Meanwhile, IMD has issued an advisory to the people of the state to take precaution measures while going outside during day time between 11 am to 3 pm.
