Odisha is set to experience scorching heat and sultry weather over the next three days, with the Regional Meteorological Centre issuing a yellow alert for 11 districts.
The warning applies to:
Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
According to the Met office, day temperatures are expected to rise by 2-3°C in the coming days, intensifying discomfort due to high humidity. The alert urges residents to limit sun exposure, stay hydrated, and take heat-related health precautions.
There is also a chance of thundershowers in isolated areas, though no significant drop in temperature is expected immediately.
This weather pattern underscores the ongoing heatwave conditions in the state, with no monsoon relief expected until mid-June, as per forecasts.
