The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall across Odisha, issuing a yellow warning for 20 districts on Friday.
The advisory warns of moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning accompanied by wind speeds of 30–40 kmph.
Districts Under Alert
The warning covers both coastal and interior districts, including Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, and Bargarh.
Precautions Advised
Residents, especially in lightning-prone and waterlogging-prone areas, have been urged to remain cautious and avoid outdoor activities during adverse weather.
Bhubaneswar Forecast
The capital is expected to see partly cloudy skies with chances of moderate rain or thundershowers. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 34°C, while the minimum will be near 27°C.
The yellow alert remains valid until 8:30 am on August 2.
