New Delhi: World Environmental Health Day is observed annually on 26 September with the aim of raising awareness and encouraging people to preserve our environment.
It started during the 2011 Environmental Health Summit and IFEH meeting in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. The main purpose of marking this day across the world is to draw people’s attention towards their well being and health. IFEH works for the protection of the environment and health and is dedicated to these works. IFEH focuses on the exchange of scientific and technical research. The major part of IFEH works for scientific and technical purposes.
World Environmental Health Day is observed annually in order to spread awareness about environmental concerns on human health. To celebrate the World Environmental Health Day IFEH organises various events with the association of other national organisations. The conference and workshop may be conducted in colleges and universities regarding the environmental issues and methods to prevent our environment. On this day we can educate common people with some awareness programs like drama regarding the environment issues and we may conduct some health checkup camps etc,.
The theme of this year’s world environmental health day is “Strengthening environmental health systems for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.”
