Bhadrak: A woman was charred to death and her 10-year-old daughter was injured after their house at Mahalasahi in Banitia village under Bhadrak Rural police limits caught fire.
The deceased woman was identified as Bharati Behera.
Spotting the flames, locals and neighbours rushed to the spot but were unable to save the woman. However, Bharati’s daughter was rescued from the burning house and was rushed to the district headquarters hospital in critical condition.
On being informed, Fire personnel reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The exact reason behind the fire is not known.
