Novak Djokovic shook off early jitters in the semi-finals of Wimbledon 2022 and posted a strong win against the local boy, ninth seed Cameron Norrie.
On a baking-hot day in the Centre Court cauldron, Djokovic burned Norrie 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. The Serb will face Nick Kyrgios as he bids to lift the Gentlemen’s Trophy for the fourth successive time on Sunday.
After losing the first set 2-6, Novak tried to get back in the game, but found it hard against Norrie, who remained to be on song. However, a slip on his right ankle, dented Norrie’s momentum and it shifted the flow of the game.
The local boy seemed to be slightly restricted in his movement, but most importantly, completely lost concentration against the Serbian player.
Djokovic took full advantage of the unforced errors from the British player and dominated the second and the third set, to turn the game on its head.
