Gajapati: A woman and her paramour were arrested on the charges of killing the former’s husband in R.Udayagiri of Gajapati district here today.
As per reports, the accused, Sasmita Chandra Behera of Bomkei village of Digapahandi block in Ganjamm along with her lover Shankar Saran Gouda, killed Krushna.
The matter came to light after the body of Behera had gone missing from December 19 after which family members had reached out to the police.
The duo was nabbed after cops recovered the decomposed body of Behera from a sack in Mankadia canal in R Udaygiri.
During the investigation, police revealed that Krushna was murdered by his wife and her love as he had got to know about their affair and was posing a hindrance to their relationship. Reportedly, both the accused had confessed to the crime during interrogation.
While a case has been registered against the accused persons, further investigation into the incident is underway, said sources.
