WhatsApp is set to roll out a new Events feature in one-on-one chats for Android users, a significant expansion from its previous availability in group chats and communities.
The feature has been spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.3.6, as reported by WABetaInfo. Currently, it is accessible to select beta testers who have updated to the newest version via the Google Play Store.
The introduction of Events in private chats will make scheduling more seamless, both for personal and professional communication. Users will be able to set reminders, schedule meetings, and organize personal commitments directly within WhatsApp, eliminating the need for external calendar apps. Additionally, events can be linked to voice or video calls, and recipients will have the option to accept or decline invitations.
This feature will be especially useful for remote workers, students, teachers, and professionals. Parents and teachers can set up parent-teacher meetings, doctors can schedule appointments with patients, and freelancers can establish project deadlines, consultation calls, and payment reminders—all within WhatsApp chats.
While the official rollout date remains undisclosed, it is expected to be introduced to the stable version of WhatsApp in the coming weeks.
