Odisha experienced slight relief from the ongoing cold wave as western winds influenced weather conditions across the state, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
In Jharsuguda, the minimum temperature rose to 8.8°C, marking a 2-degree increase compared to the previous day. Similarly, in Keonjhar, the temperature recorded at 10.6°C around 5:30 AM on Saturday showed a rise of 1.2 degrees from Friday. The state capital, Bhubaneswar, reported a minimum temperature of 12°C.
IMD officials attributed the change to the impact of western winds. They forecast that the influence of these winds may intensify in the coming days, leading to a further rise in temperatures. As a result, residents are expected to get relief from the cold wave, with nights turning comparatively warmer.
