A shocking incident unfolded in Bhubaneswar when two men lured a woman from West Bengal with the pretext of giving her a lift to the railway station and then gang-raped her.
The crime took place in the Tamando police station area.
Police identified the accused as ambulance drivers from Nayagarh district. They allegedly spotted the woman crying alone after a quarrel with her husband and offered her help. Instead of taking her to the station, they drove her to a rented house and committed the assault.
The victim later reported the crime, leading to swift police action. Officers arrested the accused, Bichitra Sahu and Narayan Swain, and produced them in court. Authorities confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and further details will be revealed after questioning.
The incident has sparked outrage in the city, raising concerns about women’s safety. Locals expressed anger over the brutality and demanded strict punishment for the culprits.
