Athagarh: The Mahanadi is in spat following incessant rain across Odisha. Reportedly, two villages in Athagarh block have been cut off from mainland after breach in embankment of Kantia river.
As per latest information, the water is flowing at 4ft over Puruna Cuttack-Sambalpur road. On the other hand, flood water has also entered Nidhipur Gada. Following this, the vehicular communication has been completely disrupted.
Notably, under the influence of the deep depression over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha coast, several parts of the State, including Cuttack and Bhubaneswar have been receiving heavy rainfall leading to water-logging in low-lying areas.
