Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today unveiled the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025, a nationwide innovation movement designed to ignite creativity among school students across India.
Organised by the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, and AICTE, the initiative seeks to cultivate grassroots innovation through synchronised participation and thematic problem-solving.
The Buildathon encourages students to develop ideas and prototypes aligned with four core themes: Vocal for Local, Swadeshi, Samriddhi, and Atmanirbhar Bharat. The event will unfold in multiple phases, beginning with registration from September 23 to October 6, followed by a preparation period and a live synchronised innovation event on October 13. Final submissions will be accepted until October 31, with evaluations continuing through December. Over 1,000 winners will be felicitated in January 2026.
Speaking at the launch, Pradhan emphasised the Buildathon’s role in fostering an “innovation renaissance” and positioning students as future architects of a self-reliant India. The initiative builds on the success of the School Innovation Marathon 2024 and aims to set a world record for synchronised school innovation.
