Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance today recovered a huge amount of cash from the houses of arrested Santanu Kumar Mallik, Block Education Officer (BEO) of Hindol in Dhenkanal.
Hindol BEO Santanu Mallik was nabbed by Odisha Vigilance today for demanding and accepting bribe Rs 10,000 from a Teacher.
During house searches so far, a total of Rs.11,92,370 in cash has been unearthed by the cops. While Rs.11,10,370 has been recovered from his residential house at Kuansh in Bhadrak, Rs.82,000 was recovered from rented house at Hindol.
The Vigilance has unearthed one double storeyed building at Kuansh, Bhadrak town, 3 plots in an around Bhadrak town, Bank & Insurance deposits worth over Rs.10 lakhs, one 4 wheeler (Hyundai i20 Asta) and one 2 wheeler belonging to accused Mallik.
Mallik has been arrested in CTC Vig PS Case No 6/23 u/s 7 PC Amd Act, 2018 and will be forwarded to the Court. Further searches continuing and investigation in progress.
